Description

YOU WILL NEED:                              

  • A 4-5 QUART STANDING MIXER WITH DOUGH HOOK
  • A WAFFLE IRON
  • A WIRE COOLING RACK, FORK
  •  8 OZ.(2 STICKS) BUTTER OR MARGARINE AT ROOM TEMPERATURE
  • 1 CUP COLD WATER AND 1 EGG

PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY BEFORE BEGINING

 EMPTY CONTENTS OF LIEGE WAFFLE MIX BAG INTO BOWL OF MIXER

  1. ADD 1 CUP WATER, 8 OZ. (2 STICKS) BUTTER OR MARGARINE AND ONE EGG TO DRY INGREDIENTS, PLACE BOWL ON MIXER AND SECURE DOUGH HOOK ATTACHMENT.
  2. LEAVING BOWL IN LOWER POSITION, SWITCH MIXER ON LOW SPEED.
  3. SLOWLY RAISE BOWL AS DOUGH HOOK SPINS TO EASILY BEGIN INCORPORATING THE INGREDIENTS WITHOUT SPLASHING ALL OVER YOU AND YOUR MIXER.
  4. ONCE BOWL IS RAISED ALL THE WAY UP, AND THE DOUGH BEGINS TO FORM, TURN SPEED UP TO MEDIUM.
  5. ALLOW TO MIX UNTIL DOUGH BECOMES SMOOTH.
  6. TURN SPEED TO HIGH AND LET THE DOUGH BEAT, LIFTING BOWL UP OCCASIONALLY SO THE DOUGH HOOK SCRAPES THE BOTTOM.
  7. ALLOW TO MIX FOR SEVERAL MINUTES INTIL DOUGH FORMS BALL AND SLAPS OBNOXIOUSLY AGAINST SIDES OF BOWL. (SIDES OF BOWL SHOULD BE CLEAN AT THIS POINT)
  8. TURN MIXER OFF, LET DOUGH REST FOR 10 MINUTES.
  9. ADD PEARL SUGAR AND MIX FOR AN ADDITIONAL 3 MINUTES ON LOW SPEED.
  10. REMOVE BOWL FROM MIXER AND SCRAPE DOWN DOUGH HOOK, AND SET ASIDE.
  11. PORTION DOUGH INTO DESIRED SIZES, DEPENDING ON SIZE OF WAFFLES WANTED. 

THIS RECIPE WILL MAKE 12 LARGE WAFFLES, 24 SMALL WAFFLES OR 60 BITES. ANY DOUGH NOT USED MAY BE FROZEN FOR FUTURE USE. SIMPLY THAW, ALLOW TO PROOF SLIGHTLY AND COOK.

DEPENDING ON WAFFLE IRON, COOK WAFFLES ON HIGH HEAT (350 DEGREES) FOR 3-5 MINUTES.  NOTE: MOST WAFFLE IRONS DON’T HAVE TEMPERATURE SETTING.

LIFT OUT OF IRON WHEN GOLDEN BROWN WITH A FORK AND PLACE ON A COOLING RACK BEFORE SERVING.

WAFFLES SHOULD BE EXTREMLEY AROMATIC WHILE COOKING;  GLISTENING WITH A SWEET  PEARL SUGAR GLAZE AND HAVE A DELIGHTFUL BREAD-LIKE BITE WHEN CONSUMED
